      An Introduction to Modern Lash Lift Techniques

       A Korean lash lift is a gentle, glue-free technique that lifts and shapes natural eyelashes and in most cases, uses a cysteamine-based solution and a flat shield.
      The Korean Lash Lift targets stubborn, downward-facing and coarse lashes.

      How it works:

      A flat shield is placed above the lash line.

      Lifting lotion (with a viscosity controller added) softens lashes while gently stretching them upward.

      Cling film may keep lashes in place.

      Lashes are then wrapped onto a shield, rod or hybrid shield to set their final shape.

       

      Best suited for: thick, coarse, downward-growing lashes

      Less suitable for: weak, fragile, or naturally curly lashes

      The Freestyle Method VS The Adhesive-Free Method

      The Freestyle Method

      The Freestyle Lash Lift changes the traditional order. Instead of attaching lashes to a shield first, lifting lotion is applied directly while lashes rest on an under-eye pad or reverse shield.

      This softens lashes before wrapping, making them more pliable and easier to lift onto a shield and shape into a curl.

      Best suited for: fine to medium lash textures, over-processed or fragile lashes.

      Less suitable for: very coarse or downward lashes, which need stronger control.

      The Adhesive-Free Method

      Despite the name, the Adhesive-Free Lash Lift doesn’t remove adhesives completely — it replaces traditional lash glue with balms or viscosity-controlled lotions that mimic a glue-like grip, keeping lashes in place without the mess.

      This gentler, faster technique is ideal for fragile or over-processed lashes.

      Best suited for: fine to medium lashes, clients needing lash restoration.

      Less suitable for: very thick, coarse lashes or highly sensitive eyes
